Metal is moving from functional part to design language: slim-frame glass doors, aluminum-framed carcasses, stainless tops and islands, metal toe kicks and trims. Strengths: durability, moisture resistance, no formaldehyde concerns, easy cleaning-ideal for kitchens, baths, and laundry balconies. Limits: cost, cool tactility, tight tolerances in fabrication and transport, and the need to manage differential movement where metal meets woodwork. The sensible approach is "accents plus wet areas," not going all-metal.
